Races: Crow's Perch Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Quest

Group: Secondary Quests

Location: Velen

You will receive this quest when you read the "Horse Races" notice posted on the Crow's Perch Notice Board.

There was not much in the way of entertainment at Crow's Perch, so the baron's men were always looking for new ways to pass the time. One of their favorites - horse racing at night and the chance for friendly (and not-so-friendly) betting that went along with it. Though the witcher had plenty of other things to occupy his time, he decided he could spare a few moments to take part in these races.

Quest stages of Races: Crow's Perch

1. Go to the race's starting line.

Go to the Race Start Line and talk to Radko. You'll have to race against three opponents. The order in which you do it doesn't matter. You can place a bet of 1 - 50 crowns before each of the races.

Go to the race's starting line.

After each race you will receive 25 XP and, depending on the opponent, an additional amount of crowns and an item.

  • Stuttering Matt - 20 crowns, Racing saddle (40 Stamina)
  • Iron-Arse Hans - 30 crowns, Saddlebags (30 Maximum inventory weight)
  • Black Bogdan - 40 crowns, Horse blinders (20 Horse's Fear Level)

2. Mount your horse and take your place at the starting line. / Be the first past the finish line.

The races will take place after dusk. The route of all races is always the same, just follow the black line on the mini-map to the subsequent checkpoints. In addition, a random obstacle may appear on the route, e.g. rolling barrels or a tree trunk lying across the road.

Mount your horse and take your place at the starting line. / Be the first past the finish line.

Geralt was the first to ride past the finish line - which should come as no surprise, given all the time he had spent in the saddle and the fact that, unlike all the other participants, he could see in the dark. The baron's men expressed their admiration for his equestrian prowess (thought perhaps not in those exact words) and encouraged him to join them again some other time.
