You will be able to start this mission as soon as you have completed A Quick Favor for an Old Friend mission. To do this, approach the newly built barn standing on your ranch.
You will meet Uncle and Charles there and together you will start celebrating the completion of your barn.
After an all-night party, Charles will wake you up in the morning and tell you that Uncle disappeared. Traces suggest that he was taken by the Skinner Brothers.
Uncle, John and Charles spend the night celebrating after finishing work on the barn. John wakes to find Uncle has been taken by the Skinner Brothers.
Gold Medal Checklist
- Get 5 headshots using the bow
- After freeing Uncle, return to Beecher's Hope within 3 minutes 10 seconds
- Complete with at least 80% accuracy
- Complete the mission without taking any health items

Prior missions
To begin Uncle's Bad Day you must first complete A Quick Favor for an Old Friend.
Objectives of Uncle's Bad Day
1. Follow Charles / Hide your horse
You both know it's a trap, but you are setting out to save an old friend. You will go on horseback to the forest where the Skinner Brothers camp should be located.
When you reach the woods, you will get off your horses and continue on foot.
2. Follow Charles / Take out the pair of Skinners
Keep following Charles. After a while, you should come across the pair of Skinners standing on guard. Use your bow and shoot one of them in the head. Charles will kill the other one. This will give you the first of the five headshots you need to earn the gold medal in this mission.
3. Follow Charles / Kill the patrol or let them pass
Keep following Charles. After a while you should come across a patrol of three Skinners. You can wait until they go further, but if you want to earn the gold medal then you should take this opportunity to get more headshots. Activate Dead Eye and shoot them. If you're fast, you can shoot all three of them. If not, Charles could kill one of them.
4. Follow Charles / Follow the wagon driver / Eliminate the Skinner
A little further you'll come across a wagon driven by another Skinner.
Follow the wagon until it stops and when its driver gets out of the wagon, take the chance to get another headshot with a bow.
5. Follow Charles / Get on the cliff / Use the binoculars to survey the camp
Follow Charles to the rocks ahead of you. Skinner Borthers camp is on the other side of these rocks. Climb the largest boulder to explore the camp from above.
Use your binoculars and in the middle of the camp you will see Uncle tied to a frame stretched over the campfire.
Suddenly, one of the Skinners will attack you from behind. Luckily, Charles will save you from the inevitable death by throwing a knife at him.
A second later, your roles will be turned around. Charles will be in danger and you'll have to save him by shooting at the right time at the head of the opponent who attacked him.
6. Take out the Skinners
The shooting will begin. Go down to the camp, find yourself a cover and start taking out the Skinners who are attacking you. If you still need more headshots then first use your bow and get them.
Then switch to a better weapon and finish off the remaining enemies.
7. Save Uncle
When you get rid of enemies in the camp, approach Uncle and cut him free.
Charles will carry Uncle and you will have to cover your retreat.
8. Escort Uncle and Charles
If you want to earn the gold medal then you now have 3 minutes and 10 seconds to reach the horses, escape from the woods and return to the ranch, so try to stay ahead and kill all those who stand in your way asap.
They'll shoot at you from above.
They will also try to charge you.
Eventually Charles and Uncle will reach the horses and you will be able to start running away on horseback.
9. Get on your horse / Escort Uncle and Charles away from the camp & back to Beecher's Hope
Ride fast and follow Charles. Along the way, a few more Skinners will try to attack you. Shoot them or ride past them.
When you leave the woods, the rest of the way should run safe.
When you arrive at the ranch, Charles will take Uncle to the house so he can rest and recover and the mission will end.
After completing Uncle's Bad Day you will get or will be able to get The Best of Women.
