In order to start this mission you have to complete A Rage Unleashed mission and then go to Saint Denis where in the Doyle's Tavern you will meet Sadie and Dutch preparing to see Colm being hanged.
In order to remain unrecognized, Dutch has arranged police uniforms for you. Sadie will dress up as a high-class lady.
With Colm O'Driscoll under arrest, Sadie, Arthur and Dutch head to Saint Denis to watch him hang.
Gold Medal Checklist

Prior missions
To begin Goodbye, Dear Friend you must first complete A Rage Unleashed.
Objectives of Goodbye, Dear Friend
1. Follow Dutch
Once you're dressed, follow Dutch and Sadie through the alleys of the city to reach the gallows where Colm is to be hanged.
In the crowd of people waiting for execution standing near the gallows you will notice a few O'Driscolls.
After a while one of them will leave the square and go towards the buildings on the other side of the street. You and Dutch will start following him.
2. Follow the O'Driscoll with Dutch
Follow him down the street.
At some point he will turn into the gate of one of the buildings and enter its courtyard. Follow him and overhear his conversation with another gang member.
3. Find a way onto the rooftop / Approach the shooter's location / Take out the shooter
When O'Driscolls leave the yard, you'll regain control of your character. If you want to earn the gold medal, you now have 45 seconds to find the sniper's position. Run up to the ladder on the left side of the yard and climb up to the balcony.
Then enter the building and go up the stairs on the right to the upper floor.
Go to the next balcony on the left and then to the roof on the right.
Then run straight ahead and next to the chimney climb up to the next roof.
Then keep going straight, jump on the lower roof and once again on the next one where the sniper's equipment is.
When you jump on the roof where the sniper's equipment is located, you will be attacked by the shooter who comes out of one of the nearby doors. Take him out.
4. Pick up the rifle and observe the hanging
Pick up the sniper rifle, walk up to the edge of the roof and watch the execution.
Sadie and Dutch will take over two O'Driscolls standing in the crowd at the gallows.
Initially, a very confident Colm will lose his temper when he notices his companions are overwhelmed and that Arthur is standing on the roof. Fear will appear on his face ...
... and after a while he will be out of this world.
When Colm hangs on the rope, Sadie will decide to take revenge on the other O'Driscolls. She will slit the throat of one of them and shoot the other one that Dutch is holding. The shooting will begin.
5. Take out the O'Driscolls to clear a path for Sadie and Dutch
Sadie and Dutch will take cover behind a bench on the right side of the square and will try to get to the street on the left side.
Your task will be to help them get there, that will allow them to escape from the city. If you want to get the gold medal then you need to get 8 headshots during this shooting. First kill the enemies closest to Dutch and Sadie and then progress to the left. Be quick, shoot them before someone else kills them.
When Sadie and Dutch reach the street, they will jump on the wagon standing there and leave the city. Arthur will come off the roof, get rid of his disguise and automatically return to the camp.
When Arthur gets back to camp, Tilly will give him a letter from Mary. It will be a goodbye letter.
After completing Goodbye, Dear Friend you will get or will be able to get Favored Sons and Mrs. Sadie Adler, Widow.
