Banking, the Old American Art Red Dead Redemption 2 Mission

After completing the Revenge is a Dish Best Eaten mission, return to your camp and, together with Dutch and Hosea, prepare for a bank robbery in Saint Denis. The plan is like this, Abigail and Hosea will create a diversion for the police, and then the rest of the group will rob the bank.

In order to fund their escape and retirement abroad, the gang prepare for one last job, robbing the bank of Saint Denis.

Prior missions

To begin Banking, the Old American Art you must first complete Revenge is a Dish Best Eaten.

Objectives of Banking, the Old American Art

1. Follow the convoy to Saint Denis / Follow Dutch

Ride to Saint Denis with your gang. When you reach the city boundaries, you will split up. You, Dutch, and a few more will head towards the bank.

3. Follow Dutch / Force the bank manager to open the vault

Equip your disguise, and follow Dutch and others into the bank. Your mates will take care of the bank's clients and staff, excluding the manager, and your task will be to get into the vault.

Point your gun at the bank manager or beat him and after a while he should open the vault.

4. Enter the vault / Unlock the safes

Once the vault is opened, go inside and try to open any of the safes.

Bill will force the manager to give you the numbers you need to open the safe. The correct combination is 19 - 72 - 54. Start turning the dial to the left (counterclockwise), then to the right and then to the left again. When you are close to the correct number the controller should start to vibrate and when you set the correct number you will hear a click. To earn the gold medal you cannot turn the dial too far so take your time.

5. Follow Dutch

Dutch will run out of the vault and you should follow him. When you get close to the windows, you'll see Agent Milton and few more Pinkertons on the street. They captured Hosea.

Dutch is waiting for you behind the counter in the central area of the bank. Go to him and take the dynamite lying on the floor.

Note: When you walk out through a hole in the wall, Javier will throw you a rifle suggesting that you will need it on the roof. You shouldn't use it if you want to earn the gold medal.

After some time a wagon with a machine gun mounted on it will appear at the end of the street. Activate Dead Eye and kill the gunner as fast as you can.

In the meantime, the rest of your gang will come up on the roof. Arthur will propose that he and Lenny go ahead to find the way out.

You will wait in the abandoned building until nightfall to then try to get to port and escape on the ship.

When it gets dark, follow Dutch to the docks.

At some point you will have to sneak further through the train cars.

12. Follow Dutch / Attract the guards over to the area without being spotted

Going forward, you'll reach more guards. The Dutch will ask you to pull them away.

Then you should go back to the others by moving behind the barrels and crates so that the guards do not spot you.

13. Follow Dutch

Next, you'll come to a spot guarded by four men. While conversing about what to do, Charles will sacrifice himself and run out, giving all of you a chance to bypass them.

This will conclude this mission and the new one will automatically start - Welcome to the New World.
