Objectives of A Fisher of Men
1. Go to Jack
Jack is playing in the grass near your horse. Go and talk to him.
Note: Since in this mission, in order to earn a gold medal, you have to stay within the time limit, you have to skip the cinematics, gallop while riding a horse and generally do everything as fast as possible.
2. Mount your horse / Wait for Jack / Go to the fishing spot
Get on your horse and wait until Jack takes his rod and comes to you. Lift him up onto the horse and then gallop to the river as fast as you can.
On the way to the river, Jack will mention the book he left in your previous camp near Blackwater.
Companions will sometimes ask for help retrieving an item. Find and return it to them in camp for a reward.
3. Walk to the riverbank to start fishing
Get off the horse and go to the riverbank as fast as possible.
Equip the fishing rod, use the cheese as a lure and cast the rod. Hook a fish as soon as you feel a bite and start to reel the line. The first fish you catch should be small, so the chances of you breaking the line are very small.
It doesn't matter if you throw the caught fish back into the water.
As soon as you catch a fish, Jack will ask for a break and he'll go pick some flowers.
Now you have to wait by the river until Jack comes back to the shore and starts making a necklace for his mom from the flowers he's collected. After a while you should also start talking to each other, but sometimes the game can get stuck here - Jack just sits there and you don't talk. To prevent this, it is best not to wait idly by but to continue fishing until the conversation begins. And when you start talking to each other, stop fishing and wait for further events.
Your idyll will be interrupted by the arrival of two agents working for the Pinkerton Detective Agency - Agent Milton and Agent Ross. They have a proposition for you - they want you to bring Dutch to them, and in exchange they offer you freedom.
Once the offer is made, the agents will leave.
