Quest stages of Disappearance among the Nauts
1. Investigate the disappearance of the Naut novice
Ask Captain Vasco about the cabin boy.
- When did you see him for the last time?
- Acquaintances in Serene?

Go and talk to Flavia and Lauro.
2. Find and interrogate the witnesses
Go to the Tavern and ask innkeeper about the cabin boy gone missing.
Then speak to Tavern Regular.
- Ask about the cabin boy.
- Ask what happened during the evening.
and then
- Ask for more information on the rich man.
3. Find and confront the kidnappers
Go to the Fontaine family house. You will not meet the owner of the house, but you will be able to talk to his wife.
- Speak about the altercation at the tavern.
She will tell you that the missing cabin boy is actually their son, who was taken away by the Nauts as a child.
- Ask why the Nauts would have taken their son.
- Ask how they found their son.
4. Learn more about Naut contracts
Return to the port and talk to captain. Inquire on Madame Fontaine. He'll tell you about the contract between the Nauts and the father of the missing boy.
After the conversation with captain is over, you and Kurt will agree that it is wise to seek information from an independent source.
5. Ask Mr. de Courcillon for information
Approach the nearby Mr. de Courcillon and talk to him.
The conclusion of the conversation is that the boy should go back to the ship.
6. Discover where Jonas is detained
Go back to the Fontaine family residence. To find out where the boy is, take and read the note lying on the dresser.
6.1. (Optional) Bribe the servant
You can also talk to the maid. You will get the information you need when you pay her 10 gold coins.
7. Find a way to free Jonas
There are two entrances to the building where the boy should be.
When you enter the building through the main entrance (eastern entrance), in one of the rooms you will meet Mr. Fontaine with his bodyguards.
- Tell him about what Sir De Courcillon taught us. - He'll give you the key to the cell where Jonas is being held. Congregation of Merchant reputation + 2.
- (Charisma 50% chance) Attempt to reason him. - If you succeed, he'll give you the key to the cell where Jonas is being held. Congregation of Merchant reputation + 1. Otherwise, you will have to use other dialogue options.
- Threaten him. - You'll have to kill him and his three guards. In his corpse you will find a key that will open the door to the cell where Jonas is being held.
When you have the key, you can go to the cell where Jonas is imprisoned and make him free.
To enter the building through the back entrance you have to jump over the wall and sneak past two guards.
The door to the cell where the boy is being held is locked and in order to open it you must have the appropriate skill (Lockpicking 1) or the key. You can also, as long as you have the right skill (Science 1 and Alchemical preparation of elemental damage), destroy the cell wall.
8. Inform Captain Vasco
Go back to the captain and talk to him. He will thank you for finding the boy and the mission will end.
As a reward you will receive + 1000 XP and Nauts reputation + 3.
