Faction Structures are small settlements that contain merchants, as well as offer new quests, challenges and an additional source of UV light at night. Initially, these sites contain the Abandoned Structures.

In order to activate the Faction Structures the following conditions must be met:

  • The zone must be controlled by either the Peacekeepers or Survivors. So if the zone is neutral then you must assign its Facility to one of these.
  • You need to activate a nearby windmill. In total, there are 17 Windmills throughout the game.

The nature of the Faction Structure depends on who controls the surrounding area. This will determine the people and quests you'll find in it.

Survivor Structures

Pumpkin Farms are where people grow, process and package pumpkins, which have shown an extraordinary resilience against the effects of the THV-GenMod. They might also host specific survivors needing Aiden's services.

At Rooftop Schools provide an opportunity for children to learn how to read, count, play, and most importantly, learn the world's history. They might also host specific survivors needing Aiden's services.

An Artist Workshop is a well of creative impulse, offering paint, pigments and other materials for people to escape and create in an otherwise rather grim world. It might also host specific survivors needing Aiden's services.

A Trading Post is where a shopkeeper sells candles, parts and other artifacts found in the decaying streets and buildings of the city. It might host specific survivors needing Aiden's services.

A Bakery, on top of providing the neighborhood with fresh bread, might host specific survivors needing Aiden's services.

Peacekeepers Structures

Rooftop Outposts were designed as rear bases to support Peacekeeper operations throughout the city. They might also host specific Peacekeepers needing Aiden's services.

A Cadet Academy is where rookies learn the ropes and train for practical combat, resource management, tactics and infected intelligence. The Academy might also host specific Peacekeepers needing Aiden's services.

A Uniform Workshop is where the most important symbol of Peacekeeper power is made. Their uniforms represent the faction's commitment to the rule of law, and the belief that only they can safeguard civilization. The Uniform Workshop might also host specific Peacekeepers needing Aiden's services.

Breweries are where a PK Master Brewer concocts batches of ale, lager and stout - depending on whatever ingredients he had handy at the moment. They might also host specific Peacekeepers needing Aiden's services.

At a Smokehouse, Peacekeeper cooks process and prepare meat, before packaging it into rations that feed the men in the field. It might also host specific Peacekeepers needing Aiden's services.
