Quest Group: Side Quests
Season: Summer
On her journey, Yaga once again stumbled upon the mushroom twins, Borvy and Jack. After a brief conversation, it became apparent what had upset the duo. As it happened, a bunch of mushroom kids had gone missing.
The fungal youths went on to search for the fabled Fern Flower, a plant with the power to fulfill dreams. The group, led by one named Sprout, left to the west.
While Borvy claimed the flower was a hoax and asked Yaga to bring the kids back in one piece, Jack warned her that, whatever happened, it was absolutely crucial that the flower was not picked.
Soon enough, Yaga set out to investigate the children’s camp.
It turned out the camp was desolate, but Yaga found a clue as to where the children had gone next. She soon set out to find the place with the fairy rings.
It seemed that the kids’ quest for the Fern Flower had taken them to the plains.
Later on, Yaga stumbled across an unusually musical plant along her way. The plant confessed that a mushroom kid with a deplorable attitude had tried to build some pathetic excuse of a house nearby. The plant could not allow that: it huffed and it puffed, but mostly it sang and blew away the straw construction. The floral artist could not live without the Fern Flower, and so it mustn’t be picked.
When asked about the whereabouts of the little mushroom adventurers, the plant revealed that they had all followed Sprout further west. And so Yaga’s rescue mission continued.
Having talked with and picked two of the little mushroom culprits, Yaga now needed to find the leader of the bunch, the infamous Sprout. Supposedly, he had gone alone to the northern part of the area.
It turned out that Sprout’s questionable actions were all motivated by his desire to get the Fern Flower all for himself. And just as he was about to finally have his wish granted, he was wounded by a stray group of Rushmans.
What a pity.
Whether he deserved his fate or not, it was crucial for the Fern Flower to awaken. If not for his sake, then for the sake of all the singing plants. But they could not perform their arcane anthem if they were mocked and interrupted by the truly disgusting weeds pestering them.
For the grand event to take place, such foul notes could not be allowed to sound. Yaga needed to keep the flowers singing by making sure the weeds didn’t interrupt them.
Finally, the fabled Fern Flower awakened. It was time for Yaga to heed its words and decide its fate. And Sprout’s fate as well.
With the little mushrooms in the basket, Yaga returned to Slippery Jack and Borvy Borko. She knew at least one of them would most likely not be very happy with the decision she had made.
