The slave master is a member of a cult and wants you to kill someone for him, only then will Phaidon be released.
Sokrates will appear and in his style will help you make the right decision.
This objective will only be available if you have not completed the quests for Odessa and she is still in Megaris. I recommend not to kill Odessa because anyway you will free the slave by killing his master :-)
Talk to him or just kill him.
