Power Corrupts All Assassin's Creed Odyssey Quest

1. Find and Reach the artifact's crash site

Hints:

• The crater is located atop the Peak of the Phaiakes
• It is northwest of the Akra Watchtower

2. Investigate the artifact's crash site

One of the clues you should investigate is at the bottom of the crater.

Two more clues can be found near the road leading northwest.

Two other clues can be found near the road leading north.

3. Follow one of the trails and Find Barnabas

Hints:

• Multiple footprints lead north / The footprints seem to lead to a small farm
• A bloody trail leads northwest / The bloody trail seems to lead to a cavern

When you have examined all the clues then two places will be marked on your map - Poimenos Cave and Koiladi Farm. Visiting the cave is optional, as you will eventually end up at the farm anyway.

4. (Optional) Explore the cavern to find Barnabas / Read the Letter

In the cave you will find a note that tells you to head to the farm.

5. Reach the farm / Free the farmers

Take down the pirates that have taken over the village and free the three tied up prisoners.

6. Talk to the farmers about Barnabas's whereabouts

Approach a group of villagers and talk to them. You will learn from them that Barnabas has gone mad.

Once you are done talking to the villagers then Herodotos will join you. Together you will come to the conclusion that Barnabas is possessed by an artifact and that this must be stopped. You will have the option to answer Herodotos when he asks you how you will do this:

• I would have to kill Barnabas.
• I'll find another way.

But what you answer will have little bearing on what happens next.

7. Stop Barnabas in Kassiope

Hint:

• Barnabas went to the Temple of Zeus

Barnabas hid inside the Temple of Zeus. Go there. You can enter the temple unnoticed through one of the two openings located on either sides of the temple.

When you get inside, Alexios will ask Barnabas to hand him the artifact. You will have the opportunity to choose how you will explain to him why you want to do this.

• The artifact is changing you.
• I have to destroy it.

What you choose only affects the way Barnabas will react but he will not give you the artifact and after a while he will summon some illusions.

8. Destroy Barnabas's illusions

First you will have to deal with ten illusions that will start to emerge and attack you.

When you do this three more, this time non-aggressive illusions of your friend will appear in the room. Approach each of them, talk to them and then assassinate them.

When you do that Alexios will repeat his request to Barnabas to give him the artifact. Barnabas still won't listen and you will get the choice how to take the artifact from him.

• Reach for the artifact. - You both will begin to struggle. The artifact will hurt Barnabas and he will drop it and regain his senses.
• Reach for the spear. - You will pick up the spear and hurt your friend. Barnabas will drop the artefact and regain his senses.

Either way, everything will end happily. Barnabas and Herodotos will return to the vacation home in the south and this quest will end.

9. Quest Completed

Rewards: Legendary XP, Legendary Drachmae, Barnabas's Lost Eye Patch (Epic Head).
