To make it easier to explore the areas available in Alan Wake 2 you should find maps of these areas as soon as possible. These maps are usually posted on boards which you can find shortly after entering a new area. Maps of some locations can be found in a couple of places, you just need to find any one of them.
There are also additional "supplemental" maps. When you find them, additional markers will be added to the base maps indicating where interesting objects such as Words of Power, Cult Stashes, etc., can be found.
