Group: Main Quests
Planet: Akiva
"The Droidsmith" is one of the quests that you can start after repairing the hyperdrive and leaving Toshara, that is, after completing the "Hyperspace" quest. To start it you need to go to the Akiva star system, where the planet of the same name is located.
Kay must travel to Akiva to find her former partner Gedeek, a droidsmith from Canto Bight who enlisted with the Empire. Kay thinks Gedeek has what it takes to deal with the gatekeeper droid in Sliro's mansion.

Quest stages of The Droidsmith
1. Travel to Akiva.
On your first visit to Akiva you will land in its capital city, Myrra. Your task will be to find Gedeek and convince him to join your team.
2. Find Surat Nuat in the Alcazar.
Head to Alcazar, a local cantina located in the southern part of the city.
Talk to the bartender and you will learn from him where you can find Surat.
3. Talk to Surat.
Head to the back room, passing through the kitchen, and interact with the intercom by the door.
A cutscene will begin. Kay makes a business proposal to Suart, which helps her find out where she should go to find Gedeek.
Kay's former partner Gedeek was last seen working for the Empire in a compound out in the jungle. Kay must break into the compound and offer Gedeek a spot on the heist crew.
4. Reach the Imperial base.
The base is located in the north of the planet. Get on the speeder and follow the path marked in the picture below.
When you reach the base, drive to its eastern perimeter.
5. Find a way into the base.
Move to the eastern side of the base and find a path going uphill. Climb it to the ledge.
Use the grappling point to swing through to the other side.
Proceed to the other side of the sidewalk and jump on the crates you will see below. Approach the ladder, release it and climb it down.
Jump over the railing and go through the narrow passage.
Be careful not to be seen by the troopers patrolling the area and go through the door inside.
6. Find Gedeek deeper in the facility.
Wait until the security camera turns so that you can sneak to the left. The two stormtroopers who are standing there will not spot you.
Wait hidden behind a crate until the camera turns to the other direction and sneak further towards the door.
In the next room a technician will stand in your way. Knock him down silently.
Then use the computer, and slice it to disable the security camera in the next room.
You now need to get to the door located on the other side of the corridor, on the right.
There are two technicians in the room, one at each of the side walls and an officer standing behind the console opposite. You can eliminate them quietly but you can also just sneak behind their backs. Only the officer can spot you when he turns around.
In the next room call the turbolift and enter it. After exiting the lift move forward and after a while you will reach the blue energy barrier. Next to it you will find treasure chests.
Then enter the vent located to the left of the barrier.
The other end of the ventilation duct is located in the technical rooms. Take the rope down to the level below.
Then use the grappling point to swing over to the grate on the wall opposite and climb along it and the metal handles further ahead.
Enter the next ventilation duct.
You will reach a large room with a turret attached to the ceiling which will start firing at you. Kay will automatically take cover behind the crates.
7. Disable the power to the turret.
Quickly run to the left and take cover behind a solid steel railing.
When the turret stops firing, run further to the left and duck behind another solid cover.
Send Nix to press the button located behind the red energy barrier. When he presses it, the barrier will be deactivated and you will be able to run into the room on the other side of it.
Take the elevator to the upper level and activate the switch you find there. This will bring to you a crate you can grab onto.
Stand by the crate and order Nix to activate the switch again, while you quickly grasp the edge of the crate before it starts to move.
This will take you to the room where the computer controlling the turret is located.
Access the computer and disable the turret.
8. Find Gedeek.
It's optional, but if you activate the holotable, then you will view a holorecording of Gedeek.
Return to the main room and enter the turbolift which is already operational.
The elevator will take you to a kind of lab or workshop. Approach the door on its other side.
A cutscene will start. Kay meets Geedeek and convinces him to join her team. Before he can do so, he wants first resolve a certain other problem.
9. Escape the base.
After a while, Gedeek will unlock the door and you will be able to leave the room.
Take the contents of the treasure chest you find in the hallway.
In the next room you will encounter several opponents. Fighting them is unavoidable. In my opinion, it's best to take cover by the door frame and eliminate them all from there.
Then leave the room through the door on the right and climb up the ladder. Behind the next door, there will be more opponents waiting for you, two stormtroopers, an officer and a technician.
Proceed to the corridor on the other side and use the elevator.
A little further on you will come across two more stormtroopers. They are standing too far from the red barrel for its explosion to kill them, but they will definitely receive a lot of damage.
Through the next door you will come out already, in the place where you started this quest. But before you are safe you will still have to get rid of three more enemies, two regular stormtroopers and one heavy one with a shield.
Once they are dead, use the grappling point to swing onto the rocks and then go down the slope. This quest will end and the next one - Viper - will begin.
After completing The Droidsmith you will get or will be able to get Viper and Money Drop.
