The Widow of Willard's Rest Red Dead Redemption 2 Mission

Group: Chapter 6 - Beaver Hollow

To begin this mission, find and talk to Charlotte Balfour, who is sitting at her recently deceased husband's grave. You will be able to do this at the end of chapter five or in chapter six. A woman has a hard time getting food, so Arthur will offer her that he will teach her how to hunt. The woman will accept his offer.

Objectives of The Widow of Willard's Rest

1. Lead the widow to the hunting area

Go to the place marked on the map. Charlotte will follow you.

2. Search the area for the animal / Shoot the rabbit / Wait for the widow to skin the rabbit

When you get there, find and shoot the rabbit.

Arthur will explain to the woman how she should skin the animal and you should wait until she does.

3. Escort the widow home / Kill the wolves

Then escort the woman to her home. Along the way you will be attacked by two wolves. Shoot them before they get you.

When you get home, the woman will thank you and suggest that you visit her again. Your honor will rise slightly.

4. Part II

Some time later you will be able to visit Charlotte again.

This time you will find her next to her house where she is trying to learn how to shoot a rifle.

5. Shoot a single bottle / Wait for the widow to shoot

Arthur will give her some tips, and when you regain control of him, shoot one of the bottles. Then wait until Charlote attempts to do the same. Charlotte still won't hit the bottle, but this time she was very close to succeeding.

6. Shoot three bottles / Shoot the rat / Wait for the widow to shoot

Shoot three more bottles so Charlotte can get a better look at how to do it. When you do, Charlotte will ask you to shoot the rat that's been bothering her for days. If you don't do it fast enough, the rat will simply escape.

Then wait until Charlotte attempts to shoot down the bottle again. This time she'll be able to do it and she'll be very happy about it. You honor will rise and Charlotte will invite you home for dinner.

7. Follow the widow home / Sit on the chair for dinner

Go home with her and sit at the table. You will start eating and talking.

At some point Arthur will be struck by his disease and fall unconscious on the floor.

When he wakes up, he will be lying on the bed. Next to him he will find a letter from Charlotte. From the letter he will find out that Charlotte went hunting and left some money for him in a box on the nightstand, which she no longer needs.
