To begin this mission, return to your home at the ranch and talk to Abigail. You will talk about life on the farm, Abigail will also mention the ranch near Blackwater, which is for sale.
After a while Mr. Dickens will visit you, who has another assignment for you. He wants you to go to Strawberry to collect mail for Mr. Geddes. Abigail will also tell you about the package for her she wants you to pick up at the same time. John will decide to take Jack with him.
John juggles fatherhood and his multiple identities as he heads to Strawberry with Jack to collect mail for Geddes, and a package for Abigail.

Objectives of Fatherhood, For Idiots
1. Drive the wagon to Strawberry / Park the wagon near the post office
You and Jack get on the wagon and set off on the road to Strawberry. John will use this time to teach Jack how to drive a wagon.
When you reach Strawberry, John will grab the reins again. You should park the wagon in front of the post office.
2. Collect the mail
Enter the post office and talk to the clerk. He'll ask you your name, which he will then repeat loudly. There will be no parcel for John Milton, so John will then tell the clerk his real name - John Marston. The clerk will repeat it loudly again. When your real name reaches the ears of another man in the post office, he will leave the post office building immediately afterwards.
Eventually, the clerk will find the parcel for Abigail Roberts. Then John will mention the deliveries for Pronghorn Ranch. The clerk will help him to load everything on the wagon and you will be able to set off on your way back.
3. Ride with Jack to Pronghorn Ranch
John will let Jack drive again. When you travel, you'll be able to tell Jack if you want him to speed up or slow down.
At some point John will notice a rider following you. When two more riders join him a little further and all three of them follow you, John will order Jack to stop the wagon near the fallen tree trunk and hide behind it.
4. Eliminate the posse
John will take the rifle out of the wagon and approach the riders. You will start talking. One of the men is the brother of a man you killed a few months earlier. The man doesn't give a damn about your explanation that his brother tried to steal from you and will tell his partners to kill you.
Kill all three opponents. If you want to earn the gold medal in this misison then you must do it using Dead Eye. You don't have to kill them all at once. All you need to do is to have Dead Eye active when you shoot them.
5. Return to Jack / Drive the wagon to Pronghorn Ranch
John will go back to Jack hidden behind a trunk. Jack's gonna be in shock after what happened. Together you will get on the wagon.
Bypass the fallen tree trunk and rush the horses. If you want to complete the next requirement to earn the gold medal in this mission, then you must return to your house on the ranch within 1 minute and 30 seconds. Do not use the path suggested by the game. Go straight towards the marker, shortening the distance wherever you can. Of course, try not to hit anything.
When you get home, Jack will run into the house and Abigail will be very pissed off at John when she finds out what happened to you.
After completing Fatherhood, For Idiots you will get or will be able to get Motherhood (1 of 2).
