If you say it's a gift from you, you'll have to kill Bardas. You can tell the truth but if you want some fun with Alkibiades then you should do as he asked you - say it's a gift from Diodoros.
If you told Bardas that Diodoros sent you then you will be able to have some fun with Alkibiades.
