This side mission will be made available after the cleansing of the Akitsu Shrine. To start it talk to the spirit of the man who is looking for his dog with special skills.
A spirit claims that his dog ran away from him, and also that its face is apparently just like a human's. Akito and KK head off to locate the wayward hound.

Objectives of A Lost Dog
1. Search for the runaway dog
The search area is to the east of where you are. Head there. Along the way you may encounter some dogs but they will be "ordinary" dogs.
Your target is the spirit you find in the tunnel under the railroad tracks. Approach him and talk to him. It will turn out that he is a younger brother whom his older brother treats like a dog.
When Akito wants to help the younger brother, his older brother will show up, who, after a brief conversation, will turn into a specter and summon some visitors.
2. Defeat the Visitors
Get rid of all visitors who attack you.
3. Purge the older brother's specter
Make the appropriate hand seal to purify the specter of the elder brother.
Once you do that this mission will end and you will receive rewards for completing it.
The missing "dog" turns out to be a human—and not just any human, but the "owner's" younger brother. The older brother's madness transforms him into a specter, which they purge to save the younger brother.
