Fish Habitats, Far Cry New Dawn Points of interest

In Far Cry Cry New Dawn you can catch six types of fish: Bull Trout, Chinook Salmon, Largemouth Bass, Paddlefish Sturgeon, Rainbow Trout, and Smallmouth Bass. There is also a Demon Fish (it is a predator), which you can't catch but only kill.

Catching any kind of fish (you only need to catch the fish once with any rarity level) unlocks the You're a Catch achievement / trophy.

How to catch a fish?

To do this, you must first have Fishing Rod perk. This adds a fishing rod to your weapon wheel. Outdoor Enthusiast perk is also very useful because it makes fishing easier.

Go to one of the fish habitat locations, choose a fishing rod from a weapon wheel and cast it into the water.

Then try to lure the fish pressing the [Reel Line] button for a short period of time. Repeat this action until the fish catches the lure then hook it by pressing [Hook Fish] button.

Start to reel it in. If the fish swims sideways, move the rod in the opposite direction.

Demon Fish

Demon fish is a big fish you shouldn't miss. Shoot it from the shore or, for example, from a pontoon. When you kill it, dive and loot its corpse.

Crafting materials

Any fish caught or demon fish skin can be sold and in return crafting materials can be obtained:

• Bull Trout = Black Powder
• Rainbow Trout = Duct Tape
• Smallmouth Bass = Components
• Largemouth Bass = Blasting Cap
• Chinook Salmon = Spring
• Paddlefish Sturgeon = Copper
• Demon Fish = Copper
