"Escape the Nautiloid" is the first main quest available in Baldur's Gate 3. It begins shortly after you create your character and emerge aboard the nautiloid.

Quest stages of Escape the Nautiloid
1. Find a way off the nautiloid.
This entry will automatically appear in your journal soon after the game starts.
We've been abducted by mind flayers and infected with some kind of parasite. We need to find a way off this ship.
2. Reach the Helm.
The corresponding log entry will appear depending on which condition is met first:
1. If you started the game by choosing any character except Lae'zel then at some point you will meet her on your way.
We met a githyanki named Lae'zel. She told us we can escape if we reach the ship's helm.
2. If you started the game by choosing Lae'zel then at some point you will meet another githyanki instead of her.
We met a githyanki named Losiir. He told us we can escape if we reach the ship's helm.
3. If you manage to extract the brain from the corpse (Myrnath) and the creature it turns out to be (Us) will join your team.
We met one of the mind flayers' minions - an intellect devourer. It wants us to go to the helm of the ship.
3. Connect the nerves of the transponder.
When you reach the helm room you will meet a Mind Flayer there who will tell you what to do next.
The mind flayer told us we need to connect the nerves of the transponder to escape the Hells.
4. Quest Completed!
All you have to do is to reach the transponder at the end of the room in time with any of your characters and interact with it. This will end this quest and you will land on the beach where you will receive the next quest - "Find a Cure".
We escaped the Hells on the nautiloid.
After completing Escape the Nautiloid you will get or will be able to get Find a Cure.
