This mission starts automatically once you've completed the previous Ryujin mission - "Guilty Parties".
Dalton told me Masako wanted to see me in Veena's office on the Research and Development floor. I should go speak with her.
Prior missions
To begin The Key Ingredient you must first complete Guilty Parties.
Objectives of The Key Ingredient
1. Meet Masako in Veena Kalra's Office / Talk to Masako / Talk to Veena Kalra
Dalton told me Masako wanted to see me in Veena's office on the Research and Development floor. I should go speak with her.
Head to the Research and Development floor and talk to Masako. She will introduce you to Veena Kalra, head of Research and Development. Together they will explain to you what they want to do and what your participation will be. In short, you have to acquire a certain ingredient for them.
2. Travel to Carinae III-a / Land at CM Station RC-1
I need to travel to the moon Carinae III-a in the Carinae System, then find out what happened to the station and locate the rothicite shipment.
Travel to Carinae System > Carinae III > Carinae III-a and land at CM Station RC-1.
3. Enter the CM Station RC-1 Mine / Gain Access to the Mine
I've landed on Carinae III-a. I need to enter the Consolidated Mining station and make my way to the research and control tower through the mine.
Note: Be prepared that you will encounter several hostile mercenaries inside and outside the facility.
Enter the building through the entrance located on the left on the upper level.
Open the box standing on one of the desks and take the keycard from it. It will serve you to unlock the elevator.
Going further after a while you will reach the elevator, take it down to the mine.
4. Discover What Happened at CM Station RC-1 / Find the Rothicite Shipment / Read the Contract
I need to find out what happened to the station personnel and locate the rothicite shipment.
Move forward bearing in mind that the mine is full of mercenaries. Just a few steps from the entrance you should come across a magazine - Mining Monthly Issue 02.
After some time, when you pass a large cave, you will reach another elevator. It will take you out to the building above.
Get rid of the enemies you come across in the next room...
...and take the disk you find in the corpse of one of them.
I found a slate on one of the Ecliptic mercenaries. I should read it and see what I can find out.
Read the Contract Order and you will find out what happened to the cargo you are looking for.
You can also interact with the CM Station RC-1 Computer and select: Shipments > Ryujin Industries [CANCELED].
5. Travel to the Clinic in the Narion System / Dock at the Clinic / Enter the Clinic
Infinity LTD hired Ecliptic to find the rothicite shipment and re-route it to the Clinic. They left no one alive. I need to get to the Clinic to retrieve the shipment and bring it back to Veena.
Travel to Narion system > Deepala and dock at the Clinic spacestation.
6. Discover What Infinity LTD is Doing at the Clinic / Retrieve the Rothicite Shipment
I arrived at the Clinic. I need to figure out where the rothicite shipment is and discover why Infinity LTD sent it here.
You need to get to the Secure Wing, which is protected by a guard. Talk to him and try to persuade him to let you pass. If you fail then you will have to find another way to convince him.
Note: If you have the Medicine skill, you will get an additional dialogue option that will convince him to allow you to pass.
6.1. Find a Way Inside the Secure Wing
I need to get past a guard to get into the secure wing of the Clinic. I should see if anyone has information that would help me.
To convince the guard you can:
- Talk to him again and bribe him with 2,500 credits.
- You can talk to Ari Miller who is standing nearby and then he will tell you something about the guard thanks to which you will get two more dialogue options while talking to the guard.
Return to the guard to speak with him again and lie that Dr. Osian sent you. Trying to give him Aurora will not work. The downside of this solution is that although the guard will leave, but the door is locked so you must unlock it first (Novice Lock).
I found a way to gain access to the secure wing in the Clinic. Once inside, I need to figure out where the rothicite shipment is and discover why Infinity LTD sent it here.
Once you are in the Secure Wing, you can approach the two medics - Sean McAfee and Dr. Lane - in the room in front of you or wait for both of them to leave. If you wait then you can simply steal the Rothicite Shipment and hack Dr. Lane's computer (Novice Lock) > select Project Dominion > Introduction, to discover what Infinity LTD is doing at the Clinic.
If you approach them then Sean will ask you what you are doing there. You have the following options:
- [Medicine] I have experience with coma patients. If you tell me what's happened, maybe I can help. - This option will only be available if you have the appropriate skill. You will get the necessary information and be able to take the shipment.
- [Lie] Infinity LTD sent me so I could personally update them on your progress. - He will tell you to talk to Dr. Lane and he will walk away.
- I need you to tell me what's goin on here. - You will have to persuade him to give you information. When you fail to do so he will call the guards.
- I was just looking for the bathrooms. - You will have to persuade him to give you information. When you fail to do so he will call the guards.
If you use options other than lying, you'll be able to talk to him and the doctor a bit more, threaten them to expose the place, and then offer to find a way to keep their names out of this, for a price, of course - you'll get 4,000 credits.
During the conversation with the doctor you will have the following options:
[Security] I'm here for a mandatory security update. I need to rum an update on your computer. - This option will only be available if you have the appropriate skill. He will unlock his computer so you will be able to check it. Select Project Dominion > Introduction, to discover what Infinity LTD is doing at the Clinic. You will have to steal the shipment but the doctor will leave the room so it will not be difficult.
[Lie] Infinity LTD send me. -Request a verbal update from him and you will find out what Infinity LTD is doing at the Clinic. Then tell him that you want to take the shipment. He will agree and you will be able to take it without any problems.
What is going on here? - No result, you have to choose something else.
7. Return to Veena at Ryujin Tower / Talk to Veena / Talk to Masako
I retrieved the rothicite shipment and discovered Infinity LTD was performing unauthorized human trials at the Clinic. I need to report back to Veena and Masako.
Leave the clinic and return to Neon City. Head to Ryujin Tower and talk to Veena. Hand her the shipment.
Then you will talk to Masako. You will be able to give her an account of what you had to do to retrieve the shipment and what you were able to determine. This will end this mission and another mission - "Sabotage" - will begin. You will receive rewards for completing it: 250 XP, credits and random items.
I was able to recover a lost rothicite shipment so Veena can complete the Internal Neuroamp and its shielding mod. While on assignment, I also discovered Infinity LTD hired Ecliptic to kill innocent people at CM Station RC-1 and was also conducting illegal human trials at the Clinic, resulting in multiple deaths.
After completing The Key Ingredient you will get or will be able to get Sabotage.
