Background Checks Starfield Mission

Faction: Ryujin Industries
This mission starts automatically once you've completed the previous Ryujin mission - "Top Secrets". Masako has a suspicion that there is a mole in Ryujin Industries and will task you with finding him.
Prior missions
To begin Background Checks you must first complete Top Secrets.
Objectives of Background Checks
1. Talk to Dalton Fiennes
I need to find Dalton Fiennes in his office on the Executive Floor and see what I can do to help find the mole at Ryujin Industries.
You will find him in one of the rooms located on the level below. Talk to him and you will find out what your next task is. You will receive an electromagnetic rifle - Novablast Disruptor and Reconstim (-30% Movement Noise for 10m) from him.
2. Meet Nyx at Madame Sauvage's Place
I need to meet a person named Nyx at Madame Sauvage's Place in Neon. He should already know that Directive Theta has been enacted.
Return to the city and head to Ebbside where Madame Sauvage's Place is. Find Nyx and talk to him.
3. Talk to Nyx
I met Nyx at Madame Sauvage's Place. I need to speak to him to find out what I need to do for Directive Theta.
He will want payment from you for his service. You will be given the following options:
- You can pay him 2,500 credits.
- You can try to persuade him. - He will then lower the price to 1,000 credits.
- You can agree to do a favor for him. - You won't have to pay. This will cause you to have to get into the locked room (Novice Lock) where Camden Cho's computer is located. So it's probably better to pay.
When you come to an agreement then you will receive Nyx's Program: Rover from him.
4. Find a way into Ryujin Tower
I need to find an alternate way into Ryujin Tower since Dalton said my access to the elevators will be temporarily disabled.
Exit the bar and turn left towards the metal staircase. Go up the stairs to the very top.
Activate the big button you find there. This will cause the nearby crane to rotate and create a passage for you.
Walk along the metal beams and through the container to the other side.
After a while you will reach the ventilation shaft through which you will get inside the building.
5. (Optional) Equip the Arboron Novablast Disrupter
Just in case, equip a weapon you received from Dalton - Novablast Disruptor.
6. Run Nyx's Program on Ularu's Computer / Run Nyx's Program on Camden Cho's computer
Note: You will have to get into the room where Camden's computer is located only if you promised to do a favor for Nyx.
I need to enter Ryujin Industries and run the program Nyx gave me on Ularu's computer.
Exit the ventilation duct and then climb up the crates to another ventilation duct. Follow it to the opening leading to the small room below.
Jump down and open the door leading to the corridor. Try to sneak past the first guard unnoticed, head to the right. This is a good time to use the Reconstim that Dalton gave you.
In the next room, activate the demo drone.
It will distract the two guards in the next room and you will more easily get to the door on the right leading to the staircase. Use the staircase to go to the very top.
As soon as you go up the stairs then open the door on the right that leads to the bathroom. It can be easily missed.
Go inside the bathroom and then climb through the hatch in the ceiling into the ventilation duct.
Find the hatch leading to the cafeteria and go down.
You must now walk along the corridor ahead, which is patrolled by a guard who strolls back and forth and stops for quite a while at each end. If you have agreed to do a favor for Nyx then you must additionally get to the room on the right because that is where Camden Cho's computer is located. You can also use this room to wait for the guard to walk to the other side of the hallway.
If you are spotted by a guard then you can try to persuade him to let you go.
A little further on you will find a door to a room in which you will find another entrance to the ventilation duct.
Open the vent follow the path ahead until you reach the next room. Jump down and before you open the door make sure the guards on the other side don't see you.
Then proceed unnoticed to the next hatch to the ventilation ducts.
Inside the ventilation duct you can find a control panel. When you open it (Novice Lock) you will be able to turn off some of the lights in the following rooms.
Continue through the ventilation duct until you reach its end and the hatch overhead. Go through it. You must now cross the hallway to the next room. Watch out for the security robot patrolling the hallway. Wait for him to walk to the right.
The next room is patrolled by two guards, one on the bottom and the other on the upper level. Use the right moment and make your way unnoticed up the stairs to the upper level...
...and then climb up to the next hatch to the ventilation ducts.
After a while you will reach a large room, where you have to sneak across the steel beams just below the ceiling. This will bring you to another ventilation duct located on the other side of this room.
You can hack the panel door (Advanced Lock) located at the end of the ventilation duct and turn off the lights in the following rooms.
Drop down, then walk up the staircase.
Wait for the guard to move to a place from where he won't notice you and enter the office.
Interact with Ularu's Computer and select Rover.
7. Exit Ryujin Tower
Now that I've finished running Nyx's program, I should leave Ryujin Tower and return to him at his apartment.
You can leave Ularu's office through the hatch in the ceiling.
Through the ventilation duct you will reach the roof where you will find two chests and digipicks.
8. Meet Nyx at his Apartment
Now that I've finished running Nyx's program, I need to return to him at his apartment and see what he can find.
Go downstairs and find Nyx's apartment.
If you have trouble finding it then turn on the scanner and follow the arrows.
9. Talk to Nyx / Wait for Nyx
I need to speak to Nyx at his apartment to hand back the program he gave me.
Talk to Nyx. He will take the program disk from you and will then sit down at the computer to analyze the acquired data. Wait patiently while he does this.
I need to wait for Nyx to analyze the data I gave him.
10. Talk to Nyx
Nyx finished analyzing the data and downloaded it onto a slate that I need to give to Dalton. I should talk to him about what he found.
When he finishes processing the data then talk to him again. He will hand you the disk which you should bring to Dalton.
11. Return to Dalton at Ryujin Tower / Talk to Dalton / Wait for Dalton
I have the data that Dalton wanted as part of Directive Theta. I need to return to him at Ryujin Tower.
Return to Dalton and hand him the Encrypted Files. Wait a while while he analyzes the acquired data.
I need to wait for Dalton to analyze the data Nyx provided.
12. Talk to Dalton
Dalton has finished analyzing the information. I need to speak to him to see what he's discovered.
To complete this mission, talk to Dalton again. He will share his suspicions with you and assign you another task - "Guilty Parties". For completing this mission you will receive 250 XP, credits and a random item, such as a booster or digipicks.
I infiltrated Ryujin Tower as part of something called Security Directive Theta to investigate Ularu Chen as the potential mole. A contract hacker, Nyx, analyzed the data which pointed to Imogene Salzo.
After completing Background Checks you will get or will be able to get Guilty Parties.
