This mission is a follow-up to the "Clearing the Fog" mission. When you remove the first Corruption, KK will give you directions to the next place where he thinks you should go.
No sooner have Akito and KK entered the safehouse than a barrier materializes around the entire apartment building, trapping them inside.
Akito and KK manage to escape and then attempt to follow the trail left behind by the perpetrator, hoping to catch up to him.

Prior missions
To begin A Maze of Death you must first complete Clearing the Fog.
Objectives of A Maze of Death
1. Make your way to Shiroyama Shrine
Shiroyama Shrine is located in an area covered with fog so first you need to get to another shrine - Namita Shrine and cleanse it. So head south, towards the Namita Shrine. Shortly you should spot it on the roof of one of the buildings.
To get to the rooftops use the Tengu.
From now on you will be able to use two more mechanics that the game offers - Grappling and Gliding.
Using your newly acquired skills, get to the torii gate and cleanse it. Along the way you will encounter a new type of Visitors - Wanderers.
After clearing the shrine, the further path to the Shiroyama Shrine will be opened to you and, in addition, you will get access to the first side missions.
Exploring Further with Side Missions
In addition to progressing through the main story, there are a number of side missions available throughout the city. These missions involve various activities, including supernatural investigations involving yokai and helping lost spirits. They are not linked to main mission progression.
Starting locations for side missions can be reviewed on the Map Menu.
When you approach the area where the Shiroyama Shrine is located then you should receive information on what you should do to cleanse the large shrine.
2. Cleanse Shiroyama Shrine
To clear the entire shrine you will have to find and cleanse three torii gates. The areas where you should find them are marked on the map. To be able to do this you will first have to get rid of a few Visitors who are in the area.
When you do this you will get access to the Fast Travel option.
Fast Travel
Select a cleansed shrine or other fast travel point on the Map Menu and press Fast Travel Button to travel there instantly.
Fast travel is completely free. Map points that are greyed out cannot currently be accessed.
You will also get access to two more side missions - Karakasa-kozo and The Voice in the Wall.
3. Look for something useful at the shrine
Head to the shrine and interact with the small fireball located on the altar. You will gain access to a new type of attack - Fire Weaving.
Fire Weaving
Fire Weaving summons powerful, long-range lances of flame. Charging the attack will transform the lances into balls that explode and can damage many Visitors at once.
During combat, you can quickly switch between Ethereal Weaving elements, as well as your bow or talismans as necessary.
Once you do this, three more side missions will also be unlocked - A Doll's Last Rites, Tanuki Hunt, and The Hoarder's House.
4. Head for the Kagerie observation deck
The place you have to get to is in an area covered with fog, so you have to remove it first. To do this, you must first go to Yashin Shrine. It is a construction site and the torii gate is located at the bottom of the excavation.
Be prepared that when you try to clear the gate you will be suddenly attacked by Kuchisake and you will have to face it.
5. Search the shrine
After killing Kuchisake, clear the torii gate and then interact with the blue orb you find on the altar. You will learn Water Weaving.
Water Weaving
Water Weaving is an attack with aquatic blades that strike a wide area, making them deadly at close range. Charging the attack will launch a wave that cuts through Visitors.
6. Head for the Kagerie observation deck
Head to the Yashin Redevelopment Area.
You now face a fairly long journey to the top, first up the escalators...
...then you will have to enter the building...
...and use the elevator that will take you to the 8th floor. Along the way you will have to face several Visitors.
On the eighth floor, a battle with a new type of opponent - Relentless Walker - awaits you.
After defeating the Relentless Walker, step outside and use the escalators. You will soon reach Kuo Shrine. Get rid of the enemies, and there will be quite a few of them, and then purify the torii gate.
7. Search the shrine
Approach the altar and pick up the object lying on it - it will be a stun talisman.
Stun Talismans
Stun talismans immobilize nearby Visitors within their range for a short period of time when thrown. However, certain powerful Visitors are immune to this effect, so be cautious when using them.
When you try to step outside the shrine, the game will allow you to test your "new toy".
8. Head for the Kagerie observation deck
Make your way to the top of the neighboring building. To get higher you will have to use mostly escalators.
At some point you will also have to use Tengu.
Eventually you will reach a small shrine located on the top level.
9. Search the shrine
Check what lies on the altar. By doing so, you will unlock a new game mechanic - Prayer Beads and get Gust Beads.
10. Head for the Kagerie observation deck
Proceed to the end of the observation deck. You should see binoculars there.
11. Use the tourist binoculars to search the area
You can look at various objects but what interests you most is the mysterious man who goes down to the subway.
12. Head to the Shibuya underground
Head to Shibuya Scramble Crossing, descend the stairs and enter the Shibuya Subway Station. This mission will end and the next mission will begin.
After completing A Maze of Death you will get or will be able to get The Buried Life.
