Quest stages of Hide & Seek

1. Found Limb

Find A Shark, kill it, loot Bloodied Leg from its corpse and eat it (You need a character who is an elf).

A human limb found in the mouth of a dying shark near Driftwood bore the memories of a young boy. It seems he was attacked and devoured by the creature, before it in turn died after washing ashore.

Found Limb

2. Make Cry

Go back to Harriet and Ben Buttons and tell them ...

*Ask if their friend's name was... is... Joe.*

... then ...

Alright kids, it's time you heard the truth... so here's the thing: Joe was eaten by a shark.

The result will be ...

We informed the children of their friend's fate. They were upset, but it was the right thing to do... we think.

2.1. Quest Reward

End the conversation telling children that:

*Kneel. Hug both children to you. Tell them it's going to be alright.*

.. then ...

*Tell him Joe's gone... somewhere lovely. A farm, or something like that.*

Quest Reward

3. Leave

Go back to Harriet and Ben Buttons and tell them ...

*Ask if their friend's name was... is... Joe.*

... then ...

Telling them can't do any good at all. They don't need to know.

... then ...

Don't worry, kids, I'm sure your buddy Joe is just fine, hanging out with his mother in Fort Joy.

The result will be ...

We decided against informing the children of their friend's fate. There seemed to be no point in upsetting them further.
