Quest stages of Bound by Pain
1. Open Seal
To uncover the entrance to the vault located under the Blazing Sculpture, you must first read the book called Ornate Hymnal. Only the character with Scholar talent will be able to understand what is written in it.
We broke the seal of the Blazing Sculpture, granting us access into a hidden vault.
2. Enter Vault
We have entered a vault that lies beneath a blazing sculpture. Now to see what it conceals.
3. Talked Priest Vault #1
Talk to Spirit of Brother Kalvin.
We met the spirit of Brother Kalvin, who had been guarding a possessed dwarf in the vaults. He told us that the only way to remove the demon is to torture the dwarf.
4. Book Adventurer
Read the Medical Report.
We read a book detailing a case of demonic possession. It noted that the demon inhabiting the victim was a creature that fed on pain - attempts to exorcise it only served to nourish it while causing great agony for the victim.
5. Used Broken Lever
Try to use Broken Lever (Vault #1).
We found a broken lever that controls entry into the inner chamber of a vault. It seems to be missing a shaft component. We will have to find a way to make the lever functional once more.
5.1. Repair Lever
To fix it, combine it with one Silver Lever Shaft. To create Silver Lever Shaft you need to go to the Ancient Forge and combine it with one Silver Bar. There are two silver bars next to the forge.
We repaired the broken lever by placing a silver shaft in its mechanism.
6. Used Enchanted Lever
Try to use the fixed lever, it still does not work.
Some sort of force is preventing us from using the lever. We'll need to figure out just what it is that is hindering us.
7. Brother Persuaded
Try to convince Spirit of Brother Kalvin to open the door and let you in.
We persuaded the spirit of Brother Kalvin to let us enter the inner chamber of the vault.
8. Brother SV
If persuasion fails, you will have to consume the source of the ghost.
One of us consumed the Source of Brother Kalvin's spirit, ending his control over the lever that controls the inner chamber of the vault.
8.1. Opened Door
We managed to open the door leading into the inner chamber of the vault.
9. Adventurer Met
Go to the next room and talk to Possessed Dwarf.
We met a dwarf at the centre of the vault - he claimed that Brother Kalvin was being merely superstitious, and that he was not in fact possessed. He desperately wanted us to destroy the pillars that held the chains binding him.
10. Destroyed Pillars
Before you destroy the pillars, you should hit the dwarf several times, you can also heal him when his vitality is low, so that the demon starts screaming that he has enough and wants to go out. Thus, after breaking the pillars, the demon will leave the body of the dwarf. The released dwarf will help you in the fight against the demon.
We destroyed the pillars and freed the dwarf. He was possessed by a demon, and attacked instantly.
10.1. Saved Adventurer
The demon within the possessed dwarf was banished.
10.1.1. Quest Reward
Talk to Spirit of Brother Kalvin again.
10.2. Killed Adventurer
If you failed to drive the demon out of the dwarf's body and you had to kill him.
The possessed dwarf is dead.
