Quest stages of A Man and His Dog

1. Dog Sick

Pet the dog and examine its neck and collar.

We learned that the dog is in pain because of some inward-facing studs on its collar. The man is using his dog's pain for his own profit.

2. Helped Dog

Turn the collar inside out.

We helped the dog. It expressed its gratitude.

2.1. Told Pouch

If your character has Pet Pal talent then you can tell the dog:

*Tell the dog that payment in gold is customary.*

The result will be ...

We helped to ease the dog's pain. In gratitude, it told us about a pouch of gold that its master has hidden on his person.

2.1.1. Got Pouch

Talk to beggar and select:

*Note the bulge at his ankle. Take out a penny. Accidentally drop it at his feet. Bend to pick it up, and clumsily stand on his toes. While he's distracted, steal the purse from his sock.*

If your skill is high enough then the result should be ...

We stole the pouch of gold from the beggar.

2.2. Helped Dog No Petpal

If the character you used doesn't have Pet Pal talent.

We helped the dog. It seemed grateful.

3. Extorted Beggar

Talk to beggar after you helped the dog. Tell him:

*Mention the dog's spiked collar. Tell him he's cruel.*

... then ...

*Tell him you'll tell the people what he did.*

... then select your price.

We extorted the beggar into giving us some gold.

4. Killed Dog

The dog is dead.

5. Graveyard Dog Hint

Talk to Rusty.

The beggar's dog was at the Stonegarden. It told us that the memorial near the centre smelled strange - similar to the Fish Works in Driftwood.
