The key to awakening the Sphinx was complete. All that remained was to use it and recover the Artifact.

To begin Awaken the Myth you must first complete Lore of the Sphinx.

Objectives of Awaken the Myth

1. Place the Sphinx Medallion in the statue

2. Solve the Sphinx's riddles

The Sphinx will randomly ask you 3 riddles out of the 12 listed below. You can answer badly, but then you have to press the three correct symbols, otherwise you will die.

  • Memory: What can bring back the dead; make you cry, make you laugh, make you young; is born in an instant, yet lasts a lifetime?
  • Time: This thing all things devour: birds, beasts, trees, flowers; gnaws iron, bites steel; grinds hard stones to meal; slays king ruins town, and beats high mountain down.
  • Death: Some try to hide, some try to cheat; but time will show, we always will meet; Try as you might to guess my name; I promise you'll know, when you I do claim.
  • Hummingbird: As small as your thumb, l am light in the air. You may hear me before you see me, but trust that I'm there.
  • Fish: I'm alive, but without breath; I'm as cold in life as in death; I'm never thirsty, though I always drink.
  • Spider: I create my lair with earthen string, and dispatch my prey with a biting sting.
  • Moon: What is always old and sometimes new; never sad, sometimes blue; never empty, but sometimes full; never pushes. always pulls?
  • Sun: Never resting, never still; moving silently from hill to hill; it does not walk, run, or trot; all is cool where it is not.
  • Stars: At night they come without being fetched, and by day they are lost without being stolen.
  • Tree: In spring I am gay in handsome array; in summer more clothing l wear; when colder it grows, I fling off my clothes, and in winter quite naked appear.
  • Mountain: What is large, yet never grows; has roots that cannot be seen; and is taller than trees?
  • River: What can run, but never walks; has a mouth, but never talks; has a head, but never weeps; has a bed, but never sleeps?

The symbols corresponding to the riddles can be found on the columns around. Press the three symbols that answer the puzzles of the sphinx. The order does not matter.

Talk to the Sphinx again. If you pressed the correct symbols, the sphinx will die and you will get what you came for. Otherwise you will die.

3. Quest Completed

Rewards: Epic XP, Prize of the Sphinx (Quest Item), Sphinx Fifurehead, Mace of the Sphinx (Epic Heavy Blunt)
